Based on the Slavic mythological creatures – Alkonost and Sirin, birds of Joy and Sorrow. Alkonost, the messenger of paradise, only goes out into the world to deliver good tidings. Men who hear Sirin sing forget everything on earth to follow the omen to their ultimate demise.
